This will be the last post on this site.
When my paternal grandmother Carmen died in 2009 I was asked to go through boxes of her papers. Included within were letters she and my grandfather exchanged in 1942 when the latter was a prisoner of war in the Philippines. Holding these in my hand and reading Santiago’s long-ago words was one of the most impactful experiences of my life.
When my mother Ann died prematurely in 2015, I inherited her genealogy papers. As I continued her research, I began this blog as a place to compile family stories as I discovered them. Nine years and more than 200 stories later, I thank you for accompanying me and encouraging me on the journey. I also invite you to follow me to Substack, where I can write without the cost and hassle of maintaining a personal website. May God bless and keep you.
